Description: This assignment required the completion of an independent research project using the City College database “Academic Search Complete” to locate a scientific topic and a scholarly source related to that topic. The purpose of the assignment was to research, explain, and present scientific information in a clear and organized manner for an audience. In this presentation, I researched on the biological processes of the respiratory system, focusing on concepts such as diffusion, surface area to volume ratio, alveoli function, and the effects of smoking-related diseases on lung function. I incorporated information from scientific sources found through the CCNY database to explain the biological mechanisms involved and why they are important in real-world health and medicine. The assignment was formatted as a visual presentation and presented in front of the class, emphasizing research skills, scientific communication, organization, audience engagement, and the ability to explain complex scientific ideas clearly and effectively.
